Andy Sutton absolutely destroyed Jordan Leopold with huge hit during tonight’s first period. There is some debate as to whether he got his elbows up, meant to do it, etc etc… as there usually is in a situation like this. The bottom line is that Jordan Leopold was unconscious on the ice for several minutes before finally getting himself up and back to the dressing room.
Obviously, Andy Sutton was a popular interview subject post game and he seemed none to pleased about it. The Post Gazette’s Ray Fittipaldo made the mistake of being THAT guy… and asking about the incident… here is a video of the exchange. Classic stuff…
I am not sure what he didn’t just say something like, “I was just finishing my check… didn’t think that I got my elbow up and didn’t mean to hurt him.” It would have been done and the group would have moved on. Crazy stuff…

That was great…. Good to see an athlete say what he thinks and not poke out the cliche. It was funny cause the reporter didn’t get the sound bite he was after!!!
