Please Help Me Welcome Amber Alexander to the Team…
I’ve been following the Penguins for five years and haven’t missed a game. I’m a public relations and journalism major and I am looking to break into sports writing, hopefully about the Penguins.
(Ed’s note: Please join me in welcoming Amber Alexander to the FTP team. Amber is a journalism student from Mississippi and loves the game. She is passionate about the game and passionate about her writing. Please make her feel at home as she helps us get through these long days of summer! Here is Amber in a nut shell in her own words…)

I’m probably the only girl you’ll find from Mississippi who actually watches hockey. The closest rink is probably three hours away. I’m an avid fan that enjoys the emotion of the game and hope to get readers excited about what the Penguins will bring this year.
I follow the Penguins closely during the summer, checking out any rumors or signings that will benefit the readers. I know this opportunity will be great for me not only as a writer but as a fan. The Penguins are a special team and the youth that we still have, makes it that much more special.
I look forward to writing for this site and for Brian and I hope you enjoy all the writing that is coming to the site.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to write about hockey and to give insight into the mind of a fan.
***Amber is a hockey fan from the deep south. She prefers a Penguins match-up over any College Football game and enjoys writing about hockey in general. A Journalism major, Amber is a news reporter for her local newspaper. You can follow her on twitter here.
