The Penguins will be looking for some payback today, as they played well enough against the Canes to win last week, but could not find a way to beat youngster Justin Peters. Peters made spectacular save after spectacular save and earned a couple of huge points for his team.
I can’t stand early games on the weekend. Sure it frees you up for the rest of the day, but I would much prefer to sloth around the house, drink some coffee and get some work done before heading to a 7:00pm game. Unfortunately these days that are broken up with an early game do not allow that to happen.

The Penguins came out of the gates strong and looked like the better team for the first 10 minutes of the game. They were skating hard, making skate to skate passes and shooting the puck from all over the ice.
Evgeni Malkin tested his injured foot this morning in New Jersey. He was accompanied by trainer Chris Stewart as he took a light skate before the rest of the team hit the ice for practice. Though is doesn’t look great, no official word on his availability for this evening’s game is yet available.
