So, it is an off day during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I could be working on something constructive, since I have a few outstanding assignments, but to help cope with some frustration that this day has bred, I went in another direction.
I’d just like to say, this isn’t to disrespect an iconic player from another team, just my ill-fated attempt at making myself chuckle a bit today. They provide the ammo, we just load the weapons and fire away, right?
So, without further adieu, here is my afternoon entertainment…
By now everyone has heard Daniel Alfedsson’s post game comments following the Penguins 7-3 victory over his Senators on Wednesday night. In case you didn’t, Alfie was asked if he felt that the Senators had a realistic chance of winning the series by winning three straight against the Penguins. The iconic Senators’ captain answered, “probably not.”
He elaborated a bit following that statement, but the words were out there and they quickly spread throughout the hockey stratosphere.
Many have spoken to the fact that the Swedish people are realists and speak the truth more times than not, but was this the right approach? Should his words in this situation all but raised a white flag? That is up for debate… but we thought it might be fun to ask Alfie some other toughies to see which direction he would go with them.

For what it’s worth, I think that Ottawa can still be competitive in the series, but there is no denying the situation that they are in.
