GVB Goes One-on-One with Dan Bylsma…

Published on September 4th, 2010

George Von Benko, who hosts a weekly talk show on WMBS Radio in Uniontown (AM 590), has been kind enough to share a number of interviews with From the Point over the past few months and he is at it again. GVB contacted me earlier this week about a few great ones that he was able to do this past week during the Penguins Alumni Golf Outing and I will be sharing them with you over the next couple of days.

First up is a one-on-one that George did with Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma. Though Mike Comrie had yet to join the fray, GVB gets some great info from Bylsma.

The two discuss the Penguins new look defense, Evgeni Malkin, players that the coach would like to see a bit more out of this season and Marc Andre Fleury.

I always love listening to GVB’s interviews as he has a very conversational approach, is very prepared and makes his subject feel at ease… all of which gets some great information!

Please enjoy GVB’s one-on-one with head coach Dan Bylsma… look for more from GVB soon, including interviews with classic Penguins goaltenders Dunc Wilson and Michel Dion!

** George Von Benko is a long time fixture in the Western Pennsylvania sports scene and can be heard hosting his weekly sports talk show on WMBS Radio in Uniontown (AM 590) airing every Saturday from 10:15 am to 12:00 noon.

    Thanks!

I enjoy these interviews, always nice to actually hear them instead of reading the same old quotes o every site.

I still miss Therrien, Bylsma… tell us about getting to your game again… not sure he is the man to take em back to the Cup. Feel good vibe was great for a one and done, but isn’t a long term solution..

Glad he put a little heat under a few of the players. I think they would have put it under themselves if they have any competitive spirit however. But good to see Bylsma come out in public and do it.

Yeah, he put some heat on guys, but until we see it throughout I am not buying. Seems to be a great guy, but a little too laid back. They need someone that falls between the player friendly Bylsma and the hard nosed Iron Mike…
