Penguins Release Pre-Season Schedule…
The Penguins will kick off their pre-season schedule with a game against the Detroit Red Wings on September 21st.
The Penguins have released their pre-season schedule for the 2011-12 NHL season and there are definitely some familiar foes on it. As is typically the case, the pre-season schedule is made up of games against a handful of the same teams each year and that is again the case.
They will kick things off with three home dates, the first of which comes against the Detroit Red Wings and their newly re-signed captain Nicklas Lidstrom on September 21, 2011. The Birds will then play the next evening against the Chicago Blackhawks, before finishing the home portion of their schedule up on Saturday September 24th with a game against the Minnesota Wild.
The Birds will play three three road games, including a neutral site game against the Los Angeles Kings in Kansas City on Tuesday September 27th.
Though the Bruins just raised the Stanley Cup last week, we are a short three months and one day away from the drop of the puck on another NHL season.
Full Pre-Season Schedule:
Wednesday, Sept. 21 DETROIT 7 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 22 CHICAGO 7 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 24 MINNESOTA 3 p.m.
