If you’re confused about the lack of credit Sidney Crosby got at the NHL Awards Wednesday night, you aren’t alone. Crosby placed 3rd in the Hart Trophy race behind Henrik Sedin and Alexander Ovechkin.
I wanted to quickly throw out my selections for the NHL Awards this evening. I participated in Puck Daddy’s poll earlier in the summer and actually had a couple of guys on podium that weren’t even nominated!

Henrik Sedin needed a big night if he was to have a shot at the Art Ross Trophy and he did just that. Sedin combined with his brother Daniel to post a combined 8 points (3G – 5A) in a 7-3 thrashing of the Calgary Flames.
The loss, combined with the Devils win, ended the Birds hopes of securing the Atlantic Division title and the #2 seed. It also locked the Pens in as the number four seed in the East and a date with the Ottawa Senators.
