In listening to Sarge today, you really get a feel that he could be back in Black and Vegas Gold before it is all said and done.
The Penguins will be together as a team one final time this morning at Mellon Arena. The team will be gathering their personal effects, breaking down their lockers and heading their separate ways for the off-season.
I am sorry to report that I am again running behind, which has pushed your morning skate around the league into the afternoon!

Considering that the Penguins won the game and I already banged out 2,600 words of good and bad during the “live game” blog, I will utilize this space to share some positive thoughts on the day…
The Penguins went through a spirited practice this morning at Mellon Arena. Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar participated and looked as if they are both close to returning.
The warm-ups are in the books and the two teams are back in the rooms making their last minute preparations.
The Penguins will indeed be without Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar. Neither participated in the skate… looks like it will be the same line-up from Wednesday night in Washington.
Evgeni Malkin, Sergei Gonchar and Brent Johnson all missed the Penguins’ practice today at Southpointe.
